Step into Old Town
We think that some of the most interesting parts of a city can be found in its older areas. Sometimes they are ancient, often they host independent business and frequently lots of creativity, culture, music and exciting places to eat and drink.
The month of September in Southampton, was dedicated to Love the Old Town and we created a campaign to highlight the stunning Old Town area.
We started by creating a distinctive graphic ‘stamp’ to identify The Old Town and those taking part in the launch campaign as well as for visitors to clearly know they were in it.
Following a productive creative meeting with Traders the distinctive stamp set in a modern style but with the iconic Bargate set within a heart in the city’s colours was agreed.
We then produced a 16page DL fold out guide with Old Town map and a wide variety of places to see, enjoy, take part and relax in. This was door dropped to residents and students and supported by a digital and social campaign.
The city’s historic district is situated in the southern part of Southampton, just below Bargate and enclosed by the remnants of medieval city walls, the area extends down to the waterfront, where ferries sail to the Isle of Wight and back.
So why wouldn’t you Love the Old Town too?
